Grachev Staying Focused

Newyorkrangers.com has a great piece on why all eyes at Rangers summer camp are on top prospect Evgeny Grachev...

"All it took was an impressive camp, a 40-goal season in major-junior, and OHL Rookie of the Year honors in the past year to cement Grachev’s status as an elite prospect for the Rangers. And while last year’s prospect camp was a way for Grachev to introduce himself to the organization, this year’s summer camp -- taking place this week in Westchester -- is a springboard for the talented 19-year-old to audition for a spot on the varsity roster when training camp opens up in September."

On what he expects this summer Grachev said...

“I just want to have a good summer, get in good shape, and try my best to show my best in camp. Then we’ll see what happens.”

Here's a bizarre video the Rangers attached to this article of Grachev just skating in circles. Which is well chronicled at The Sports Hernia Blog...

...i can't get more excited than I am right now about the future of Grachev. And hopefully that future starts in September.

These NHL network online videos are terrible. All the videos of the NHL Draft prospects were just them passing and gliding, no goals, no great passes. I can't believe they would make this crap readily available.

If you go to the Rangers site, they have videos of ALL the prospects skating in circles... It's so stupid! Like, couldn't they at least have some commentary on these players in the background, if they weren't actually going to talk to the players themselves?
