"True, Renney did not sign Wade Redden, nor Dmitri Kalinin. But he is responsible for a team that currently has only two plus players on the roster – Zherdev is plus-2, Marc Staal is plus-1. Artem Anisimov, who played 9:27 in one game, is even. Renney is also responsible for wringing whatever he can out of Drury and Scott Gomez, whose big contracts and drop in play since hitting Broadway ostensibly make them unmovable. Markus Naslund is on pace for less points than he had last season in Vancouver and ask any Canucks fan – that's kind of remarkable in a backwards way."
...i've said all along that Renney deserves the year, however, the Rangers play of late is making me think long and hard about changing that opinion.

What bothers me about Renney is that there hasn't been much change. The Rangers have been getting dominated, yet there hasn't been a wakeup call sent to the team. A huge wakeup call would be to sit Wade Redden and possibly Naslund for the next game. Wade Redden was absolutely awful last night, especially in the 3rd period, and Naslund seemed to sleepwalk through the game. Those guys are high priced veterans who are greatly underachieving of late and a consequence is needed. Renney just can't change Prucha, Voros or Dawes and expect changes. Bigger names need to be sat, and the Islanders are a perfect team to do that against.
How about a "system" change. All the complaints against Renney are about his "system." How about he changes his battle strategy?
You cant fire Renney during the season, and have Perry "the powerplay" Pearn as interim head coach...
I agree, that Renney needs to sit some big names, starting with Gomez and Redden....if I read a nother quote from gomez about how "it starts w/ him" and "he needs to play better" I will have a nive fire w/ my Rangers jersey's....
Finally, while its easy to say change the system, however the system seemed ok w/ Jagr, straka, shanny, avery....Maybe this team is jusy not that good!!!!
