Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun reports...
"An NHL executive says he believes the Panthers "have to trade" D Jay Bouwmeester at the deadline. The club would likely get a roster player, prospect and a first-round pick in return. The Flyers, Blackhawks, Oilers, Rangers and Devils are all interested."
Bouwmeester is in the final year of his contract that will pay him $4.875 million this year.
...i refuse to believe any rumor that links the Rangers to a player with that size salary, because there is no way another team is taking Redden, Rozsival, Drury or Gomez' contract back. Which is the only way the Rangers could get a player like Bouwmeester under the salary cap.
