Rangers 6, Avalanche 1

The New York Rangers (32-24-8) defeated the Colorado Avalanche (28-34-1) by the score of 6-1, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports.

...by far the most enjoyable game of the season. Goals, fights, coaches yelling at each other. This game had everything. I hope this is a sign of things to come.

...with the complete effort tonight as well as the team really sticking up for one another (coaches included) this could end up being the game we look back on as the turning point of the season. This team seemed to forge an identity tonight. And I like it.

...did you see how excited Lundqvist was skating around after being named first star (not deserved)? He probably thought it was his birthday with all those goals.

...really starting to see Prucha get his confidence going. Despite his lack of playing time the last few years he's still got those great hands around the net.

...congrats to Drury on breaking his 17 game scoreless streak. Can you say King Kong removed from Drury's back?

...three straight solid games from Redden. Maybe he wasn't such a bad pick-up. Still not worth the money, but he's done a complete 180 since Torts came on board.

...loved the nastiness in the third from the scrum in the Avalanche's end to Schoenfeld jawing at Laperriere to Tortarella putting Orr on the ice to send a message. The Rangers coaching staff not only sent a message to the Avalanche but also to the rest of the league that the Rangers are going to be a tough team to beat down the stretch.

...by the way how bad is Colorado?

...lots of help tonight, as Florida, Buffalo and Carolina all lost.

...the Rangers have off tomorrow then three days of Tortorella boot camp until the Rangers next game against the Islanders on Thursday on Long Island.
