Rick Carpiniello at The Rangers Report pulled no punches this morning in his post that rips almost everyone associated with the Rangers. Here's a piece...
"Isn’t it remarkable in a salary-capped league that one team can have so much more skill and talent than another? I mean, Dallas has so many more players who can play. AND the Stars are without long-term injured Brenden Morrow and Sergei Zubov. AND the Stars are still dealing with the Sean Avery contract against the cap. AND the Stars still had enough space to trade for Darryl Sydor. So how is it that the Rangers have so little skill and talent, and are almost maxed out and have no room to add a player ? Easy. Sign B-list stars to mega-star contracts. Right?"
Other issues Carpiniello touches on include Renney on the hot seat, Scott Gomez, Sean Avery, Sather not hiring Stars coach Dave Tippett and Petr Prucha.
...while I've put a lot of the blame on Renney's shoulders for the team's play this year, the above excerpt is all you need to know about who created this mess. Glen Sather.
...i highly doubt this is true with the Dolans running the show, but Sather has to be on the hot seat if the Rangers either don't make the playoffs or exit in the first two rounds. It was his decision to take this team in a new direction this year and if it doesn't work he needs to be held accountable more than anyone. Especially with the Rangers hamstrung cap wise for the next five seasons. I hate to say it but we could be in for a quick fall Rangers fans.

The Dolans are too busy to care about what's going with the Rangers. They're building a team around getting LeBron James in a few years.
Imagine if this team got Sundin and lost 10-2?.
Then imagine if this team got Sundin and won 10-2. Is it premature in saying the rebuilding process post Jagr backfired?
Don't forget how awesome Jagr was.
