Rick Carpiniello at The Rangers Report tells us that the Rangers claiming Sean Avery could only be a few days away..."He will clear waivers by noon Eastern time, and will be assigned to Hartford of the AHL, the Rangers’ affiliate, and soon, if not immediately be put on re-entry waivers. That’s when the Rangers will almost surely claim Sean Avery, unless somebody beneath them in the standings does it first."
...this is happening quicker than I anticipated.

wow i hope no other team (the islanders especially) claim him ahead of us...
sather should talk to burke, tell him to claim avery and we'd be happy to trade our 3rd (maybe 2nd) rounder for him
