Rangers Looking to Move Redden or Rozsival?

Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun is reporting that the Rangers are looking to move either Wade Redden or Michal Rozsival.

Garrioch adds that Redden has a no-movement clause in his contract, making it more likely that Rozsival would be dealt.

...i don't think many Rangers fans will be unhappy with this rumor.

...i know I've killed Redden so far this year, but I'd be against moving either one. What type of signal would it send to potential free agents down the road? "If you struggle in the first three months of your contract you're out of here." Talk about pressure to perform. I criticized the Lightning for dropping Barry Melrose so quick, so I'd have to do the same if the Rangers dealt either one any time soon. Making a panic move like that doesn't add to the stability of the franchise.

Trading Rozival would not be a panic move or send a poor message to any pending free agent. He under performed last season and in the playoffs last year and was rewarded with a huge contract. This season he has continued to under perform and is then traded, to make room for a younger possible better player from HArtford and also improve the teams CAP Space.....I have no problem and neither shold any possible FA....Maybe free agents should look at Drury and Gomez as examples not Redden and Rozival

I think Rozsival will be in another uniform by next summer. The Rangers are going to need his money to sign Zherdev and Dubinsky, and eventually Staal. With Sanguinetti progressing, and Del Zotto a little further away, the Rangers will eventually have an adequate replacement.

Rosy has been far from good but he's coming off of surgery and has to be given at least the entire year before the Rangers start to talk about moving him.

Since when must you give anyone time before you trade him....this isnt pee wee hockey, tis is a business, if you are not performing and helping the team you put someone in who can....

So you're saying if the Yankees go out and get CC Sabathia and he starts the season 1-5 with a 7.00 era you want him off the team?

I happen to agree with you, NYRFAN. Even though Rozival has not performed, I do not thinking giving up on your investment is not the answer. Also, the Rangers do not want to trade a player when their stock is down. A good time to trade Rozival is when he picks up his game if the organization decides to do so.

Anyone who watches the YAnkees knows almost every player under performs in there 1st season with the team, then settles in to the spotlight.
Rozival has played her for a few years, he is not a 1st year free agent signing. He was awful the 2nd half of last season, and then even worse in the playoffs.
As bad as he was last year, he didnt play such a poor defensive gave as he is this year. It was more about not shooting on the PP and at even strength, again mostly offensive stuff....This season he is awful on both sides of the ice.....bad give aways, out of position, and of course never wants to shoot the puck.....Its time to say good bye...even if it just frees up cap space....
