No to Sundin, Means Yes to Shanahan

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports...

"An agent (not Mats Sundin's or Brendan Shanahan's) told me on background a few minutes ago that he believes the Rangers have suggested to Sundin that if he remains undecided by Tuesday, they will move on. Then the brass could offer Shanahan, 39, a one-year deal as camp formally opens."

Zipay also has some notes from yesterday's workout including Petr Nedved displaying his quick wrister, Paul Mara's shaved head and an update on Ryan Hollweg.

...looks like one more go round for Shanahan is a sure thing.

Sam Weinman at The Rangers Report has more here, as well as a report on Naslund and Redden's first experience being at the mercy of the Rangers’ formidable publicity machine.

From Wiki: "July 31, 2008: Signed a tryout contract with the New York Rangers."

Wow. Totally news to me. He used to choke all the time despite how many goals he scored.
