Valiquette to Start Tonight

Over at The Blueshirts Blog, John Dellapina reports that Stephen Valiquette will get the start tonight in Toronto...

"...having pulled out a 3-2 shootout win here on Nov. 10 by starting Steve Valiquette in goal, Renney will go to the rangy backup to Henrik Lundqvist again tonight when the Rangers take on the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre.

Presuming Valiquette gets through the entire game, that will leave a rested Lundqvist to play tomorrow night in the Garden, when his tired teammates might need a big effort from him against the recently-impressive Montreal Canadiens. Renney also did not rule out Lundqvist playing in all three games on the Western Canada trip that begins Jan. 2 in Calgary."

...this move makes a lot of sense all of which are stated by Dellapina. Hopefully, Valiquete is able to recapture some of the magic he showed in his last start in Toronto, because he has been awful lately.

Valiquette is terrrible. I'm glad I won't be able to see the game tonight.
