Rangers vs. Wild Preview

Tonight the New York Rangers (17-13-3) visit the Minnesota Wild (19-12-2). The Rangers have not played in Minnesota since a 5-3 loss on Oct. 10, 2003. The Rangers have scored at least three goals in all eight meetings between these teams, winning six. The Wild has put together a three-game winning streak behind the outstanding play of their backup goaltender Josh Harding. For a full preview go to Yahoo! Sports.

...with the unbalanced schedule its a real treat to finally see some of these Western Conference teams. Its a real shame that the Rangers haven't played a game in Minnesota in over 4 years. As you can see by their record Minnesota is having a solid season and are currently tied for 1st place in the Northwest Division. This should be a nice test for the Rangers.

...I feel confident going into this game, as I'm very happy with the lineup right now. The only thing that would put a damper on it is if Hossa is inserted anywhere in the lineup other than the 4th line.

...as I noted in the previous post the Rangers have a grueling stretch ahead and if they want to come out alive, Lundqvist is going to have to regain the form he had earlier in the year.

...Minnesota plays a defensive system similar to the Rangers so I don't expect much scoring tonight. The Wild's big guns are Gaborick and Rolston. If the Rangers can hold them off the score sheet they should be just fine.
