"Tom Renney says a lot of interesting things. And here are a couple he came up with in his postgame press conference following today’s gruesome 5-1 Garden loss to Phoenix:
'We’re playing like we have to make up 10 points in the standings and score six goals in our next game.'
And, after a long pause to ponder when I asked him how many of his players are going good at the moment: 'Three, maybe?'
How is that possible?...
...Then again, perhaps the answer is as simple as this: Without Sean Avery in their lineup, the Rangers are shrinking violets."
...'shrinking violets', ouch John. Tell us how you really feel.
...actually Dellapino is 100% correct. Without Avery, this team has no passion. And that's Renney's fault.
...and what kind of quote is that. If the team was playing like they had to make up 10 points in the standings, they would look like the team that rolled into the playoffs last year. Not this garbage team that's on the ice right now.
...To me they're playing like a team that has a 10 point lead in the standings and are coasting.
