Montoya Called Up

According to Sam Weinman at the Rangers Report, the Rangers haved called up Hartford Wolf Pack goaltender and former 1st round pick Al Montoya for tonight's game vs. the Penguins...

"The Rangers have called up Al Montoya, presumably to hedge against Henrik Lundqvist not being ready to even be a backup tonight. Whether Montoya plays is the question..."

...if Lundqvist can't go tonight, I'd love to see Montoya get the start. I know Valiquette had some nice starts earlier this year, but his last two have been spotty and right now I don't have much confidence in him. Especially, with the Crosby and Malkin in town.

...I think having Montoya in goal tonight, might also motivate the team to get the guy his first NHL win.

...Montoya's stats this year: Games played 17; Goals Against 39; Shutouts 0; GAA 2.48; Save % .908; Record 8-5-2. Not bad.

If Montoya has a nice start tonight his trade value will sky rocket.
