And when I say happy, keep in mind that I'm not at all happy with the cap situation the Rangers are in because of the utter stupidity of Sather, however, based on team need with money restraints so far I like what Sather and the Rangers have done. Would still like a scoring winger. Heard Frolov is looking for $5 million per.

Prust is a good role player, good resigning. Islanders are in talks with Kovalchuk, offered a mega million dollar contract. Any thoughts?
Frolov... 25 goals 34 assists per, I would say 3 mil a year maybe 4, but 5 is high... can we even afford that? I like the guy thou... What do you guys think?
As far as Isles go, I'd throw the house at Kovy. They need him for the organization to be relevent again.
Ivan, yes $5 million is way too high for Frolov maybe $3.5 million.
Rangers can afford him if they decide to not re-sign Girardi or send Redden to Hartford.
So if they sign Frolov for 5 mil, and either dont sign Girardi or let Redden sink, we are down a D man. Gilroy is a bit of a question mark at this point. So maybe down 2 D men. Oh well, i'll let Sather figure a way out of this mess...

I cant understand Kevin why you are so against this contract the guy is the absolute most feared player in the game look at what Shelley got from the Cryers, I'd rather have the younger more intimidating player . 1.6 mill. per is not a huge hit, the guy serves a huge purpose. I can assure you that there will be no player beating the crap out of Gaborik or running the crease on Lundqvist. Boogaard is a huge character player & is going to be a fan favorite in MSG right away. I'm sick of everyone killing any move Slats makes just for the hell of doing it.
LTP couldnt be more right.... He is the bigeest and one of the toughest in the league...the teams looking to sign him were all offering about the same amount of money......
The reason everyone (Kevin) has a problem is because of all the shitty contracts that all already on the roster and holding us back in free agency....
Just because the Redden,Rozival, Drury, Brashear, and Voros contracts kill us doesnt make the the Boogie mans contract bad!!
oh boogaards contract is bad. might be good fighter but can't play anything close to regular shift. so he gets 5 min/game. shelley thrived in a role where he played quite a bit more than that.
it won't take long b4 many of us are looking forward to end of boogaards contract or talking about buyout or hartford for him.
and why do people omit avery when talking about killer contracts. he is not wortht he 2 mm we are paying him - never mind the 4 mm in total
I'm not sitting on the Boogie contract hate bandwagon either LTP.
Saying he can't skate or play hockey or has any hockey sense well...people have said the same thing about Shelley for what, a decade? Here he is signing three year contacts at nearly 40.
Shelley isn't that great; Is Boogie a role player? Yes. Fan favorite potentially? Big yes. Intimidating? Yes. Hockey savy? Nope.
"...shelley thrived..." that's a mega overstatement Shelley has been in the NHL for a decade and has only scored _16_ goals.
I'm psyched and I want to be at the Garden when Boogie gets the place going berserk.
