Andrei Markov will miss three weeks with what appears to be a knee injury while Mathieu Schneider will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.
Montreal is currently in seventh place, three points ahead of the eighth place Rangers and Panthers.
Montreal's final three games are at Rangers, at Bruins, and Penguins.
...i assumed Montreal had a playoff spot locked-up, but these two injuries plus their difficult schedule may be enough to knock them out.
