Ovechkin Doing a Lot of Talking

Yesterday, Tarik El-Bashir at the Capitals Insider reported that Alex Ovechkin was complaining about the size of Henrik Lundqvist's equipment...

"Well, he has big equipment. You have to make some traffic and go to the net. ... He's a great goalie, but you still can beat him."

When asked if Lunqvist's pad were too big Ovechkin's answer was "Oh, yeah."

Now today, Ovechkin is reported by Lance Hornby at Sun Media as saying this about Sean Avery...

"Lots of people say stupid things," Ovechkin later said. "But it's just part of the job. They get paid for it. I just ignore him. He likes lots of talk, but (it's better) he talks to the media and not to us."

...i love when players insist they're going to ignore Avery. Ummm, you're talking about him so you're obviously not ignoring him.

...i wouldn't say any of this is bulletin board material, but I hope the Ranger players are taking notice of Ovechkin's loose lips.
