And It's The Caps in the First Round

With the Canadiens loss to Pittsburgh last night the Rangers clinched the seventh spot and a date with Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals in the first round of the playoffs.

Over the course of the last few days, I've seen numerous blog posts and fan comments stating that they'd rather play Boston. However, I'm very happy to see Washington. The playoffs always comes down to goaltending. And Boston has much superior goaltending than the Capitals.

Jose Theodore is a definite weakness for the Capitals. Theodore's career record in the playoffs is 19-24. Not exactly Patrick Roy.

If the Rangers can find a way to contain Ovechkin and keep the pressure on Theodore, I think they can win this series.
