Avery to Blame

Mike Zeisberger at Sun Media seems to think Sean Avery is to blame for the Rangers struggles of late...

"Memo to Avery: If you want to help your team, use your stick to put pucks in the net, not to clunk goalies in the back of the head.

While the Rangers so-called "changed man" reverted back to his side-show shenanigans Saturday (that didn't take long, did it?), the Rangers were going down to defeat yet again, this time dropping a 1-0 decision to the Boston Bruins.

And now, the Rangers playoff hopes are quite precarious."

...while the stick poke probably wasn't the smartest move, especially with the Rangers down 1-0, I think Zeisberger might be taking it a bit too far to insist that one incident is the reason for the Rangers decline.

...if Zeisberger had been watching the Rangers he would know that Avery has been a "changed man." And Avery poking Thomas had more to do with trying to get a hot goalie, who is notorious for being a head case, off his game than reverting back to his "side-show shenanigans."

...always great when a so-called reporter feels that he knows the answer to all the Rangers problems by watching one game.

Exactly. So many reporters read a few headlines, mix it with gossip and write a story. Though Avery has taken two really dumb penalties (the Cam Ward helmet grab and stick to head) he's been an asset.

Guys like him hurt Avery. Worst.
