The Rangers played well for the first two periods. They hit a couple of posts and skated very well. I fell asleep in the middle of the third when it was 2-1 Canucks and then woke up to them winning 4-1.

actually, their play was uninspired and pretty poor in the first. they managed just 4 shots and took, i believe, 3 penalties. Their play in the 2nd was much better. they sort of looked like the same team they were in the 1st 2 weeks of the season, having success pressuring the puck and controlling it in the o and neutral zone. then they squandered a 4-min powerplay. After the mid-period mayhem in the 3rd, higgins finally got his first goal, yay. he should have scored earlier in the game on a breakaway off a nifty pass from one of the rangers only consistently solid players, kotalik. But then it seemed as though they got caught up in the jubilee of "higgy" finally scoring with a Pee-wee hockey-esque love-fest celebration that they forgot they were playing an NHL game. I wanted to vomit after that 3rd goal. this team really needs to pick it up. if this were S.America, Redden, Rozy, Drury, et. al would have probably been assasinated already, enabling mgmt to finally sign capable veteran leadership (other than prospal).
