No. 1 Star: Matt Gilroy, New York Rangers
Fellow defensive rookie Michael Del Zotto was stellar again, scoring a power-play goal and as assist for the Rangers. But it was Gilroy's first NHL tally at 17:50 of the second period that stood up as the game-winner in the 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils. Set up by Vaclav Prospal and Marian Gaborik, Gilroy snuck a shot past Martin Brodeur from the right circle.

...its strange having people envy the Rangers young stars. I like it.
Wyshynski also gave John Tortorella an honorable mention for his time-out and tirade last night.
