“We scored a lot of goals and we were winning games,” Staal said. “We just thought we could go in and wheel around and get a couple and bury teams. We’ were not paying attention to the defensive part of the game.”
...i would have assumed with Tortorella constantly riding these guys it would have cut down on over-confidence. I guess not.
Gross also further updates us on Marian Gaborik reporting that the Rangers are not disclosing what type of injury it is and are not giving word on his availability for tomorrow night’s game against the Islanders but coach John Tortorella said he was not too concerned.
...the Rangers better not be messing with us by saying Gaborik's injury isn't that serious and then he misses two weeks. I hope they're giving it to us straight.
As far as Henrik Lundqvist, Gross notes that he was said to be OK after his morning one-car fender-bender but was obviously late getting to practice. Gross adds that there is no reason he shouldn’t be available tomorrow.
