Cloutier Suspended for Blocker Punch

Ken Wiebe at Sun Media reports that former Rangers goaltender Dan Cloutier received a one-game suspension for punching an opponent with his blocker and being given a match penalty in his first start with the IceHogs of the AHL on Sunday.

"I came here to get some minutes and play," Cloutier told the Rockford Register Star. "I would have liked to have played more minutes. I've been known for being a guy who sticks up for himself. It's hard to change that part of my game. At the same time, it was a selfish play on my part because I did come here to play and took myself out of the game."

...and here's the answer to the Rangers back-up goaltender situation. Listen, Cloutier sucks as a goaltender but could you imagine him firing the team up the first time he gets run over ala Lundqvist and he starts beating on the guy Tommy Salo style. Whose in?
