Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that Sean Avery is back with the top line with Prospal moving back to center...
“I think Sean has created a lot of offense with those two - I just don’t think Vinny or Gabby played that well against Detroit,” Tortorella said. “We can try 10 different people there, they just had one of those games they didn’t play that well. That’s going to happen."
...Torts can tinker with the rest of the line-up as much as he wants but this top line of Avery-Prospal-Gaborik needs to stay intact for the rest of the season.
Gross also reports that both Wade Redden, who participated in contact drills today, and Ilkka Heikkinen will be making the trip to Chicago with Redden being a game-time decision.
Redden on his injury...
“It felt pretty good with the little bit of contact I had,” said Redden. “It’s a good sign.”
...in limited action Heikkenin has actually looked pretty solid. Much better than Sanguinetti who seemed shaky at times. Having said that, I'm hoping Redden is ready to go tomorrow night.
Today's lines...
Avery-Prospal-Gaborik
Higgins-Drury-Callahan
Parenteau-Anisimov/Boyle-Kotalik
Lisin/Brashear-Christensen-Voros

I agree with Avery going up to the top line & staying on for a bit. There comes a point where endless tinkering has a backlash against chemistry. This team needs some consistency, sometimes chemistry takes more than a game or two.
