Valiquette Finishes & Wins a Game in Hartford

Hartfordwolfpack.com reports that Steve Valiquette made 25 saves in the Hartford Wolf Pack's 2-1 overtime win over Islanders AHL affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers last night.

Also in the game, Matt Gilroy picked up his second assist in as many games since being sent down to the Pack.

...nice to see Vali put together a complete effort after two disasters since his demotion. Don't think it's enough to get re-called, but it's a start.

Good for him to make it happen and probably gain some confidence, but I still think his career as a ranger is over, even if he plays well enough to get called back up, chances are that he will get picked by another team, plus, my money is on Johnson settling in and becoming the permanent back up.

Gilroy with another assist too. Three games...3 assists.

Still shaking my head in disgust about sending him down.
