Rangers 4, Maple Leafs 1

The New York Rangers (7-1-0) defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs (0-6-1) by the score of 4-1, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...i told you this wasn't a trap game. The Maple Leafs came at the Rangers hard early and the players were ready. That's a real testament to the coaching staff and veterans.

...and the reason the Maple Leafs weren't able to break through early was Lundqvist. Second game in a row the Rangers needed him to come-up big and as always he did.

...the Betts-less pk continues to roll along and make me look bad. 6-for-6 tonight.

...the dream season continues for Del Zotto with a goal in his return to his hometown of Toronto. He's just livin' the dream.

...Dubinsky continues to live up to his contract.

...we all know what Staal can do defensively, but I love that he is joining the play so often under Torts. And tonight he was rewarded with a goal after an outstanding individual effort.

...who knew you had to drop a guy to the checking for him to find his offensive game. Congrats to Lisin on his first goal as a Ranger. Maybe Torts should think about dropping Higgins to the fourth line on Monday.

...in all seriousness, it does look like Torts is finally getting frustrated with Higgins lack of offense as the Long Islander was dropped to the third line in favor of Avery in the third period.

...the Albatross Twins are now a combined +8 (Redden +6, Rozsival +2) on the season. I might have to drop the nickname if they keep this up.

...off tomorrow, then a real test for the Blueshirts as Dany Heatley and the Sharks come to town.
