Lundqvist: Leafs Will Be Desperate

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes has this quote from Henrik Lundqvist on what to expect from the Maple Leafs tonight...

"They're gonna come in desperate," Lundqvist said a few minutes ago after a half-hour optional practice at Madison Square Garden. "They don't have the same skill (as trhe Ducks), but they'll be desperate, so sometimes that's tougher to defend. We have to be ready."

On what it takes to be a top team...

"If you want to be a top team, you have to be consistent, and this is the toughest part, after a couple good wins, so we have to be prepared especially tonight," said Lundqvist, who watched the 3-0 defeat of the Ducks from the bench after four straight starts and will return tot he cage tonight. "That's the challenge. Every night you have to start over. Whenever he tells me to play, I'll play. I'm not gonna say whether it was good or bad, but in the long run, it's always good to have a break here and there."

...this has trap game written all over it. If the Rangers can come away with a victoty tonight, I will be very impressed.

Aaron Voros, a healthy scratch against Anaheim for the first time this season, said he felt fine and hoped to dress tonight, but "I'm not sure what's going on otherwise."

...i'd like to see Voros back in with Lisin sitting and Kotalik returning to the third line.

I agree about the trap game sentiment. Saw the Leafs play the Pens Saturday night. They didn't look terrible. They had their way with them on the power play though (3 goals). Rangers need to make them pay if they are going to the box a bunch in this game.
