Chris Drury had this to say about Sean Avery, courtesy of Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants...
"He's such a good skater, he's such a good athlete," captain Chris Drury said of Avery. "In this system, he's going to create a lot of havoc for the other teams. When he and the rest of us nail this whole total system that Torts is teaching us, I think he's really going to flourish. He's going to do well at it. One of Sean's biggest assets is he gets up in the play and finishes his checks with the best of them."
...the part of the quote that really stuck out for me was that the players have yet to nail the whole system yet. I'm pumped with the way they're playing right now, I can't wait to see how exciting the team is once they do get it.

I'm with you on the system. Seems like they still have trouble with neutral-zone forecheck and third man high counter-attack situations, but they look better every game. At this point, I could care less if they're a contender as long as they bring it every night and work the youth in. So far, so good. Great to see the Rangers finally sticking to a long-term plan. It only took 75 years...
