Bruins 1, Rangers 0

The New York Rangers (29-18-4) lost to the Boston Bruins (38-8-6) by the score of 1-0. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports.

...is there a less entertaining team in hockey right now? They're almost unwatchable. I don't care that they had 35 shots on goal, not a single one of them was a tough chance. No crashing the net, no offensive flow. Just trapping. It wasn't until late in the game when Renney finally abandoned the trap did the Rangers show some offensive ability. But they've got to play the system to win.

...the Rangers went 10-2-1 in the month of September playing a high tempo, fast paced, exciting game. Then the month of November came and it's been trap, trap, trap and the most boring brand of hockey I've ever seen. At least when the Devils were doing it they were winning. Why did the game plan change? Was the coaching staff not happy with the defense despite winning? I'd love to know.

...this team makes it very difficult to recap these games. I feel like I write the same things over and over again. No offense, the power play stinks, why isn't Prucha in the line-up. It's almost like the movie Groundhogs Day. But a least Bill Murray makes me laugh, whereas this team makes me want to cry.

...the Rangers have scored a grand total of one goal in the four afternoon games this year. And are now 28th in the league with 2.43 goals scored a game.

...Anisimov better be on a bus from Hartford after this one.

...next game is Tuesday against the Thrashers on Adam Graves Night. The Rangers organization should do the fans a favor and cancel the game as to not end the night on a sour note.

...AND what a psych-out putting in a 21 year-old goalie who hasn't played a single game this season according to Sam Rosen...and not scoring a single goal. Pitiful.

So what's the team's excuse, that they played the #2 team in the league? But they just played one of the lowest (Pens) and couldn't score either.

Redden was absolutely awful.

The Rangers had maybe four good chances over three periods. Sam and the other hammerhead loved this game. Guess you had to be there.

Callahan, as always, was flying as was Zherdev despite a few dopey turnovers.

Wow. That was brutal.

It's one thing if Tim Thomas is in net... but an inexperienced goalie in his first game this season *shutting them out*???

Just pathetic.

Loving this team can be really painful sometimes.

Bruins fan here... just wanted to let you know, Rask isn't just some nobody. He is the goaltender of the future for the Bruins and was coming into this season and last considered the top goalie prospect in the world behind Carey Price.

Just piling on to that last point, Rask is listed by hockeysfuture.com as the second-best goaltender not in the NHL (other than LA's Bernier). He's supposed to be the Bruins' starter-in-training, except that Thomas and Fernandez have made it impossible to promote him until now.

Shanny...3 goals in 5 games, 2 on the PP....Thank god we dont need any help scoring goals this year, especially on our PP....

Speaking of our PP....6 f-in men on the ice..are you kidding me!!!!!!

@ flesisch
I was thinking the same thing. Our top players are definitely scoring goals when needed. The Rangers bench is overcrowded with goal scorers...Shanny's hardly and asset.

Yes, Rask was very good, but I don't think he was 100% tested. No to take anything away from him (I'm sure he's awesome) but there's something to be said about jumping up to the NHL level... and the Rangers should have drilled him.
