The New York Rangers (14-13-1) defeated the Buffalo Sabres (16-8-2) by the score of 2-1, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.
...looks like Torts stressed defense during the extended break between games. Can't remember this good a defensive effort from the Blueshirts.
...nice to see Lundqvist find his game. Minus the last goal.
...i missed the first period, so I refuse to believe that Higgins scored tonight.
...empty net shooting practice starts at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
...amazing how Avery can turn around a line. Drury and Callahan have been struggling big time, insert Avery and those two have one of their best games of the season.
...i thought the Rangers brought Heikkinen up? I think Chad Johnson played more than he did tonight.
...what no goal from Gaborik tonight?
...Del Zotto got absolutely undressed by Stafford. If you missed it, check it out here. Sorry Micheal.
...quick turn around as Detroit is in town tomorrow.

Excelent game from the rangers, I like what Gross said inbetween periods; "if they played more like that they wouldn't be a .500 team." They did only pop 2 goals, but it was against a stingy Sabres team with Ryan Miller in net anchored by Tyler Myers.
It's amazing how good Henrik plays when they don't let up 5 break waway/ 2 or 3 on 1 situations. Defence and goaltending are a team function - they go hand in hand.

Well according to the mighty joe micheletti it was Drury that turned that line around...he said something how much better his linemates play since he got on the ice.
Meh.
Those two are so hard to listen to these days.
