Penguins 3, Rangers 2

The New York Rangers (0-1-0) lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins (1-0-0) by the score of 3-2, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports or newyorkrangers.com.

...a real entertaining game and although the Rangers came out on the short end there are a lot of things to be excited about. Especially because without Fluery's thievery in the second period the Blueshirts might have stolen this one.

...its nice to have a super star on the team again. Gaborik is no joke folks. Was I the only one cringing everytime he got hit?

...Del Zotto and Gilroy looked real comfortable out there, especially on offense where Del Zotto may have one of the best outlet passes in the league and Gilroy can skate all day.

...new personnel same sorry power play.

...not shockingly, first hit of the year goes to Callahan.

...Dubinsky played like he was back centering Jagr tonight. Which is a good thing.

...Brashear is just not the same fighter he used to be. Back in the day he would have dropped Goddard like a bad habit. Now he's lucky if you called that fight a draw.

...while I was happy with the overall performace, I felt like the team was missing something, I just can't put my finger on it, oh yeah I know SEAN AVERY. Can't wait to get him back in the line-up.

...Hank was Hank. Can't blame him for two deflections and Crosby on the doorstep. Although, because of Fluery's perfance in the second period, you'd have to say the Pittsburgh netminder outplayed "The King."

...one thing Ranger fans and Lundqvist better get used to is odd man rushes against. I'd love to see the number on that tonight.

...the Penguins are still blocking shots.

...right back at it tomorrow night for the home opener against the Dany Heatley-less Senators.
