Steve Zipay at Blue Notes has this quote from Rangers Captain Chris Drury after last night's 4-3 win over the Capitals...
"We're growing some guts and battling through things on the road. There was a tricky bounce and it's tied up....We just stuck with it and battled back. All we talked about during the day was stay out of the box. We certainly didn't do that, but our penalty kill hung in there (8 for 9). We really gutted it out. "
...its nice to see a resilient Rangers team. The last few years when things started rolling down hill during the course of a game they were rarely, if ever, able to stop it.
Speaking of resilient, John Tortorella had this to say about how the team reacted after Henrik Lundqvist gaffe last night...
"I thought we showed some resiliency. He's been bailing us out of some messes for a while and I'm glad the team hung in there and helped him out a little bit. We weren't sure what was going to happen after that (fluke goal). You know it happens. I'm glad the boys pulled him out of something that doesn't happen very often."
