Yankee Stadium Snubbed Again?

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports that an unattributed report in the Boston Herald stated that the NHL has informed the Red Sox that Fenway Park will be the location of the next Winter Classic and not the new Yankee Stadium.

The official response from the league is "Fenway Park is one of several excellent options that the NHL has been considering, but no decision has been announced."

If the Herald report is true, this would be the second year in a row that Yankee Stadium would be passed over.

Zipay notes, however, that the Rangers are being mentioned as a leading candidate to play against the Bruins.

...since when does New York play second fiddle to Chicago and Boston?

I won't believe the hype until it's "officially official."
