Antropov to Play; Torts Gives Clean Slate

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports that Nik Antropov (knee) skated in the optional with 10 other players and is likely to play tonight against Montreal.

Zipay also has a this quote from Jon Tortorella on the Rangers sluggish play of late...

"I think you wipe the slate clean. That's what we're trying to do this week.Whether it be good bad or ugly (in the past), you need to put that aside. The past couple days we've shown tape of nothing but good stuff offensively, we did it yesterday, today, maybe something will click in when a player sees himself making a good play. We need to help them here, there's no sense in kicking em right now. I'll be honest with you, there are some people in this lineup right now, if it's game 15, they wouldn't be playing tonight. But that's not the answer right now, we have to find a way to grab some points and get in."

...a Rangers win and seventh place is still a possibility. A loss and the Rangers are making tee times next week.

I think it means that Torts knows that their are some serious concerns regarding either the talent/drive/work ethic of some of his players and this if it was earlier in the season, it would have been easier to make an adjustment. But with 3 games left, its time to rally the troops not teach 'em a lesson.
