John Dellapina at the Daily News reports..."Rangers GM Glen Sather spent the entire, 30-minute seventh round of the NHL draft sitting with Avery's agent Pat Morris Saturday. And after Morris made his pitch, complete with a folder full of statistical evidence, he emerged all but convinced that Avery won't be re-signed before becoming an unrestricted free agent at noon on July 1."
...most Ranger fans I've spoken with have come to the realization that Avery is not coming back.
...i find it unbelievable that Sather and Avery's agent can't find a middle ground to get this done. The Rangers need Avery and Avery needs the Rangers. Sather is definitely low balling Avery, but at the same time no way is Avery worth $4 million a year. I think $3-3.25 million a year is a fair price. C'mon guys get this done.
