Andy Strickland over at HockeyBuzz says that Nik Antropov is seeking a 4-5 yr. deal worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $4-5 million per season..."The Rangers and Nik Antropov are having some preliminary discussions as they would like to re-sign the 29 yr old sniper, but in reality there is very little the Rangers can do unless they move some bodies."
...not sure how Sather's going to open up cap space when his biggest salary problems are the biggest under-performers on the team (see Redden, Gomez, etc.).

Yikes. I don't know about that one. I would rather trade a salary and spend the extra 2-2.5 million to get Hossa or trade for Heatley. We have too many 2nd line guys we need some top talent. Antropov is a good player, but he is ideally a 2nd liner who would just pose as a 1st liner on this team.
Get it done. He was our best player down the stretch last year, plus he gives us much needed size on the power play...
