Dubinsky to Give Jagr a Spark; Tyutin off Power Play

In today's Newsday, Steve Zipay writes about Tom Renney trying to jump start Jaromir Jagr by putting him with Brandon Dubinsky...

"Jagr has struggled to find his game without center Michael Nylander, who opted for a lucrative long-term contract with the Capitals. He hasn't jelled with free-agent centers Chris Drury and Scott Gomez.

Dubinsky has blossomed, tied for the team lead in scoring with 11 points since Jan. 1. So the duo might skate together for the rest of the season, as Rangers coach Tom Renney said he hopes to lock in lines for the playoff push."

...why not. Nothing else is working offensively.

Zipay also reports that the Rangers have taken Fedor Tyutin off the power play...

"The blueliners on the power play have changed as well, in part because rookie defenseman Marc Staal missed his second practice with the flu and Renney is worried about his energy and stamina for tomorrow. On one unit was Gomez, Drury, Dawes and Straka at the point with Dan Girardi; Jagr, Shanahan, Dubinsky, Paul Mara and Michal Rozsival formed the other fivesome.

Also absent was Fedor Tyutin, who is having difficulty getting shots through on the man-advantage."

...this needed to be done as Tyutin has been terrible at the point on the power play. I would love to see Staal, once fully healthy, to get some power play time.
